Rosecroft: Enavant rolls to victory in Potomac Pace
Enavant moved to the lead going to the half and went on to easily defeat a talented field in Sunday night's $100,000 Potomac Pace for free-for-allers at Rosecroft Raceway.
This Is The Plan (Yannick Gingras) left quickly from post seven for early command, but Allywag Hanover (Todd McCarthy) slipped to the outside from the pocket going to the 26 second opening quarter and took the lead after that marker. Enavant (Dan Dube) was hot on Allywag Hanover's heels, though, and he wrestled away the top spot as they raced in front of the grandstands for the first time.
After he touched down on the front-end, Enavant went on to hit the half in 53 2/5 and the three-quarters in 1:20 3/5, and he widened his margin in a 27 2/5 final panel, defeating Allywag Hanover by 2 3/4 lengths in a life's-best 1:48 flat. Jack's Legend N (Dexter Dunn) was third after a first-over trip, followed by Nandolo N (Jason Bartlett) and Mayhem Hanover (Tim Tetrick).

"I just took a shot to go out of there, and it was good," said Dube. "Last time he raced at the Meadowlands [in the Breeders Crown], he was flying home. We gave him a shot tonight."
A 5-year-old Somebeachsomewhere gelding, Enavant is trained by Luc Blais for owners Determination and Guy Corbeil. He is now a 16-time winner from 25 career starts, and he has now earned $208,486. He was sent off at 6-1 and paid $15.20 to win.
