FRANKLIN, Ky. – Joel Rosario, the 2021 Eclipse champion jockey who last year set a Kentucky Downs single-meet record for wins (17) and mount earnings ($2.95 million), will sit out Sept. 18, 21, and 22 after being suspended for three days for a riding infraction that led to the disqualification of his mount, Happy Gal, from second to fifth in the sixth race Thursday. Those dates correspond to the upcoming Churchill meet, where Rosario will ride Saturday before serving the days. He’ll also be riding at Aqueduct in New York the next few weeks, returning to Churchill for various mounts, before riding most of the Keeneland fall meet that spans Oct. 7-29. Churchill will run the first five of 11 stakes at its September meet Saturday, led by twin races for 2-year-olds, the Pocahontas and Iroquois, the first two qualifying events toward the Kentucky Oaks and Derby next May. Saturday entries will be drawn Wednesday. :: Get Daily Racing Form Past Performances – the exclusive home of Beyer Speed Figures
