Jockey Joel Rosario, currently tied for 11th in the jockey standings at Santa Anita, has left Southern California and will ride in Louisiana and Gulfstream Park in coming weeks, according to his agent, Ron Anderson. Rosario is booked to ride at Fair Grounds on Friday and Saturday, and will ride at Gulfstream Park the following weekend before relocating to Kentucky for the start of the Keeneland meeting on April 5. Later this spring, Rosario will ride in New York, Anderson said. Through Sunday, Rosario had won 11 races at the Santa Anita winter-spring meeting, including the Grade 3 San Marcos Stakes on turf on Missed the Cut in January. Rosario has won eight stakes this year at Aqueduct, Fair Grounds, and Sunland Park. Missed the Cut is entered in Saturday’s Grade 3 San Luis Rey Stakes at Santa Anita, a $100,000 race at 1 1/2 miles on turf. Antonio Fresu has the mount, trainer John Sadler said on Wednesday. :: Want to learn more about handicapping and wagering? Check out DRF's Handicapping 101 and Wagering 101 pages.
