RACE 8: NELSON AVENUE ran strongly in the fall when landing a Parx Racing stakes before ending up second among three next-out winners in the Grade 3 Forty Niner at Aqueduct. The late-bloomer has been working sharply with Grade 2 winner Jody’s Pride and is drawn favorably outside all the speed in this quality field. LIFE AND TIMES received a triple-digit Beyer in both of his blowout scores at the Big A and could be the controlling speed after breaking from the rail in his stakes debut. (2) RACE 9: OHANA HONOR has been working bullets at Payson Park since winning a nine-furlong stakes Nov. 15 at Aqueduct. He has some positive experience going the 1 1/2-mile distance of this Grade 3 event and retains money rider Flavien Prat. BALNIKHOV had a troubled run last out when eighth at 2-1 in the Grade 2 Hollywood Turf Cup, a 1 1/2-mile Del Mar stakes that he nearly won in 2024. He cornered nicely in his last few works on the synthetic training surface at Santa Anita and could run big in the third start of his form cycle. (2) RACE 10: WHISKEY DECISION has been working right along at Payson Park for her first start since taking the Sept. 14 Athenia Stakes with a career-best 94 Beyer at Aqueduct. Prat retains the mount for trainer Chad Brown, who has been heating up big time at the Gulfstream Championship meet. PROCTOR STREET won both of her fall outings in Kentucky, including the nine-furlong Cardinal Stakes with a 93 Beyer. IN OUR TIME rarely runs a bad one and is a threat to make all the running over a course that’s been kind to speed. (3) :: Play Gulfstream Park with confidence! (12) RACE 12: CUGINO gave the favored front-runner Wolfie’s Dynaghost a run for his money last time when second in the Grade 3 Fort Lauderdale. PROGRAM TRADING has had a break since a troubled run behind Notable Speech in the Nov. 1 Breeders’ Cup Mile and can fire when fresh. MAJOR DUDE capped his 2025 campaign with a victory in the Artie Schiller Stakes at Aqueduct. Grade 1 Arlington Million victor FORT WASHINGTON prevailed in a 1 1/8-mile stakes at Pimlico the last time he exited a layoff in May. Off a belated third in the Fort Lauderdale, BEACH GOLD picks up David Egan, who combined with trainer Patrick Biancone to win with a longshot the other day. (5) RACE 13: TAPPAN STREET defeated the subsequent classic winner and 2025 Horse of the Year Sovereignty in last year’s Grade 1 Florida Derby, after which he went to the sidelines. He was a workmanlike winner when coming off the bench in a Dec. 19 allowance, a race he had to have needed. He embarrassed the speedy millionaire Saudi Crown in a brilliant five-eighths breeze at Payson last Saturday and could take a giant leap forward while being reunited with Luis Saez.
