Romans considering the Amsterdam for Seven Trumpets

Seven Trumpets, a distant second to Firenze Fire last Saturday in the one-mile Dwyer at Belmont, is being considered for a turn-back to 6 1/2 furlongs in the Grade 3 Amsterdam on July 28 at Saratoga, said trainer Dale Romans.
“I’m also thinking about the Amsterdam for Promises Fulfilled and Cove Blue,” said Romans, who will have a 20-horse string at Saratoga.
Mr Freeze, second to High North in the Iowa Derby, will be considered for one of three upcoming races for 3-year-olds – the Haskell at Monmouth, Jim Dandy at Saratoga, or West Virginia Derby at Mountaineer Park – “depending on how things are shaking out with some of these other top horses,” said Romans.
Free Drop Billy, seventh in the Belmont Stakes after finishing 16th in the Kentucky Derby, will be moving to grass for his next start in either the Grade 2 Hall of Fame on Aug. 3 at Saratoga or the Grade 1 Secretariat on Aug. 11 at Arlington Park.
Coach Rocks finished a distant second to Red Ruby in the Delaware Oaks last Saturday, and will get a rematch in the Grade 1 Alabama on Aug. 18 at Saratoga.
Romans also said that Dak Attack, winner of the 2017 Ellis Juvenile, is nearing his first breeze after recovering from an injury diagnosed following a race in early January at Gulfstream Park.
“He’s doing great,” said Romans.
