Rollins out for weeks after spill

Jockey Chance Rollins will be sidelined for eight to 10 weeks after falling from his mount, Boozen Blues, in Friday's fourth race at Bay Meadows.

Rollins, tied for fourth in the Bay Meadows jockey standings, suffered a displaced fracture of his left wrist, abdominal bruising, and a neck strain when his mount propped badly after bearing out and bumping the eventual winner, Yellow Out.

At Lone Star Park, Jockey Eddie Martin Jr. escaped serious injury Friday when he was thrown from his mount, Lupe's Love, after she clipped heels with another rival midway on the final turn.

Martin had returned to riding Thursday for the first time since fracturing his collarbone in a September Spill at Arlington. Earlier this year, Martin won the spring riding title at Lone Star.
