Roll It Gal unlikely to fly under the radar this time
Roll It Gal outran her 23-1 odds at Gulfstream Park last month when third in an optional $16,000 claiming race for fillies and mares at a mile. She is back at the same level Friday and figures to be a much shorter price. Roll It Gal owns the field’s best last-race Beyer Speed Figure and, as a 4-year-old, has an age edge on the rest of the fillies in the field, all of whom are 3.
The optional claimer, which carries first-level allowance conditions, drew a field of six. Others set to start include Kinsley, a 10-length maiden special weight winner last out at Monmouth Park, and Garden Princess, who last raced at Belmont Park. Another starter, Tar and Feather, is a full sister to champion Awesome Feather.
