Rodman to stand in Florida for Woodford Thoroughbreds

Woodford Thoroughbreds has acquired Rodman, a Grade 3 winner who also is Grade 1-placed, and will stand him this year at CloverLeaf Farms II in Reddick, Fla.

The 7-year-old Malibu Moon horse will have a $2,500 stud fee.

Bred by David Hager II and campaigned by Barry Schwartz, Rodman won the 2009 Queens County Handicap and the 2011 Irish Tower Stakes. He also placed in two stakes last year. They were the Metropolitan Handicap, when he was runner-up to Tizway, and the Grade 2 Suburban Handicap, in which he finished third. He retired with a suspensory injury earlier this month with a record of 6 wins, 2 seconds, and 1 third from 18 career starts, and he earned $416,152.

Rodman is out of the Affirmed mare Crystal Gem and was her first stakes winner.
