RACE REPLAY IS NOT AVAILABLEHOT SPRINGS, Ark. – Rockshaw is a candidate for the 3-year-old sprint stakes at Oaklawn Park after his win in a Saturday allowance, trainer Ron Moquett said. The horse earned a Beyer Speed Figure of 82 for his first-level allowance score, a race in which he covered 5 1/2 furlongs in 1:04.31.
The initial race for Rockshaw’s division is the $125,000 Gazebo on March 4. The other is the $150,000 Carousel on April 13.
Rockshaw’s win Saturday flattered recent Grade 3 Jerome winner El Areeb. Rockshaw had finished fourth to El Areeb in the James F. Lewis III in November at Laurel. Rockshaw is a son of Maclean’s Music and races for Alex and JoAnn Lieblong of Arkansas.
