Rockport Harbor on the mend

The condition of Rockport Harbor's foot, discovered to be sore on Sunday, has improved, and he could return to the track Thursday or Friday, trainer John Servis said Monday. is still being pointed for the Grade 3, $250,000 Rebel Stakes at Oaklawn on March 19, said Servis.

On Monday, Servis was trying to pinpoint the exact location of the injury, believed to be a bruise in the sole of the left front foot.

"We're going to try, as soon as the blacksmith comes, to release some of that sole pressure," Servis said during training on Monday. "And if that's the case, hopefully in two days we should be good as new."

Servis said the blacksmith would cut away some of Rockport Harbor's sole in an attempt to relieve pressure.

Rockport Harbor has won all four of his starts, including the Grade 2 Remsen last out on Nov. 27.
