Rock Your World works five furlongs for Belmont Stakes

In the right way, Rock Your World has been a “boring” colt the last few weeks at Santa Anita.
The winner of the Santa Anita Derby on April 3, Rock Your World finished 17th in the Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs on May 1, encountering early trouble in the race. Rock Your World was not considered for the Preakness Stakes at Pimlico on May 15 but is expected to start in the Belmont Stakes at 1 1/2 miles on June 5.
Rock Your World rebounded quickly from the loss at Churchill Downs and has been in steady training this month.
“We came back looking to see where his energy was and he’s been delightfully boring,” trainer John Sadler said. “We’re right on schedule.”
Friday at Santa Anita, Rock Your World worked five furlongs in 1:01.20, although Sadler timed the colt in a slightly quicker 1:00.80 and galloping out six furlongs in 1:26.40.
“We’re looking for good energy in his works,” Sadler said.

Owned by Hronis Racing and Michael Talla, Rock Your World worked in company with the stakes winner Campaign.
Joel Rosario rode Rock Your World in the Kentucky Derby and will have the mount in the Belmont Stakes.
“This could be a fascinating race,” Sadler said.
Sadler is taking a more cautious approach this spring with Flightline, a 3-year-old colt by Tapit who won his debut in a maiden special weight race at six furlongs by 13 1/4 lengths on April 24. Flightline has not worked since that race, but will do so soon.
“You’ll see a breeze on him in a week or two,” Sadler said. “We’re getting him ready for Del Mar.”
The Del Mar summer season runs from July 16 to Sept. 6.
