Rock Your World to return to turf, targets Del Mar Derby

ARCADIA, Calif. – Rock Your World, winner of the Grade 1 Santa Anita Derby in April but well beaten in the Kentucky Derby and Belmont Stakes, will race on turf this summer.
Trainer John Sadler said Sunday that Rock Your World will be pointed to the Grade 2 Del Mar Derby at 1 1/8 miles on turf on Sept. 4. Rock Your World might prep at Del Mar in the Grade 3 La Jolla Stakes at 1 1/16 miles on turf on Aug. 8, Sadler said.
Owned by Michael Talla and Hronis Racing, Rock Your World has won 3 of 5 starts and earned $591,600. Rock Your World won on turf in his first two starts, including the Pasadena Stakes at a mile on Feb. 27.
Rock Your World finished 17th of 19 after a troubled start in the Kentucky Derby on May 1. In the Belmont Stakes at 1 1/2 miles on June 5, Rock Your World raced near the front for the first mile before fading to finish sixth, 22 lengths behind Essential Quality.
Rock Your World galloped on Sunday morning at Santa Anita, Sadler said.
