Roadster nearing return to races

ARCADIA, Calif. – Roadster, unraced since finishing third as the favorite in the Grade 1 Del Mar Futurity last September, is moving closer to his 3-year-old debut.
Trained by Bob Baffert for Speedway Stable, Roadster worked six furlongs in 1:10.60 from the gate Sunday at Santa Anita, the fastest of 18 works at the distance.
“I’m happy he worked well,” Baffert said. “He’s coming back.”
Roadster finished two lengths behind stablemate Game Winner in the Del Mar Futurity at seven furlongs. Game Winner later won the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile and was named the champion 2-year-old male of 2018.
Roadster has had three workouts since late January. He was sidelined with quarter cracks earlier this winter.
Spiced Perfection to Madison
Spiced Perfection, second in the Grade 3 Barbara Fritchie Stakes on Saturday at Laurel, will be pointed to the Grade 1 Madison Stakes on April 6 at Keeneland, trainer Peter Miller said Sunday.
The $300,000 Madison Stakes is run at seven furlongs for fillies and mares.
Spiced Perfection, who won the Grade 1 La Brea Stakes on Dec. 26 at Santa Anita, was recently sold privately to Adam Wachtel, Peter Deutsch, and Len Schleifer and transferred to Miller from Brian Koriner.
