Rivers Run Deep kept his record of defeating Ohio-bred horses intact when he handled a field of older Ohio-breds Sunday afternoon in the $50,000 Honey Jay at ThistleDown. Trained by Cody Autrey, Rivers Run Deep was kept just off the early pace in the six-furlong event. Jockey Jareth Loveberry asked the 3-year-old for his best in upper stretch, and he responded with a two-length victory in ridden-out fashion. The pacesetter Quasi Folle settled for second, 1 1/4 lengths in front of Candy Bites in third. Rivers Run Deep returned $4.20 to win and set off a $51.80 exacta with Quasi Folle. The running time for the six furlongs over a good track was 1.10.08.
