River Downs track report

A little more than four weeks into the River Downs meet, jockey Larry Taylor and trainers Joe Woodard and Ron Powell were leading their respective divisions.

Through Tuesday's card, Taylor had 21 wins, four more than Rodney Prescott. Five other riders have scored 10 or more victories. Among the trainers, Woodard and Powell have each won 10 races, and are three wins ahead of Marty Long.

* The first stakes of the meet, the $50,000 Tomboy for 3-year-old Ohio-bred fillies, will be held Saturday. Under consideration are Crypto's Twinjet and Mercer's Launch, both stakes winners last year, and Come Hither, recent winner of the Tougaloo Stakes at Thistledown.

* Fans at River Downs will be watching the Preakness with great interest as two Ohio-breds, Harlan's Holiday and U S S Tinosa, compete for the second jewel of the Triple Crown.
