Riker remains unbeaten by taking Swynford

ETOBICOKE, Ontario —Riker remained unbeaten with a comfortable 2 1/2-length tally on Saturday at Woodbine in the $125,750 Swynford Stakes.
Riker ($3.40) went right to the front and set easy fractions in the seven-furlong sprint, with Van Damme and Tizzarunner taking up the chase. Riker began to draw off early in the stretch, and then coasted home on top to complete the distance in 1:23.39.
Tizzarunner held off the charging maiden Majestic Slew for second in the five-horse field.
Jesse Campbell rode Riker in all three of his starts, all front-running victories.
“He’s a smart 2-year-old, and he has a lot of talent to bring with it,” said Campbell. “This horse doesn’t have to be on the lead. Right now, he’s there. I’m not concerned about his running style at all.”
Riker earned $75,000 for Tucci Stable, which purchased him for $60,000 at a Florida 2-year-old sale.
