Right Choice streaking into Kowloon Cricket Club Centenary Cup

Right Choice has compiled a three-race winning streak in Hong Kong since the start of the year that is attracting ample attention.
Trained by Frankie Lor, Right Choice has risen in the Hong Kong handicap rankings through the three-win sequence, accomplished entirely in seven-furlong races at Sha Tin Racecourse on Jan. 12, Feb. 10, and March 2. Right Choice is back at Sha Tin on Sunday for the $248,502 Kowloon Cricket Club Centenary Cup at a mile on turf. This time, he faces a more difficult class of competition in a field of nine.
A 4-year-old New Zealand-bred gelding, Right Choice has won 4 of 5 starts, racing only in Hong Kong. He won his debut on dirt in November and was second in his turf debut on Dec. 23. In each of his wins, Right Choice closed from a stalking position to take the lead in the final furlong under jockey Silvestre de Sousa. Right Choice was favored of those wins.
With Sunday’s race against tougher company, Right Choice will have a break in the weights. With de Sousa aboard, Right Choice will carry 117 pounds, 16 fewer than topweight Time to Celebrate, from the stable of leading trainer John Size.
Time to Celebrate won a handicap at a mile on turf by 4 1/4 lengths at Sha Tin on Feb. 24, his first victory in nine starts at the current Hong Kong meeting that began in September.

Joao Moreira will ride Time to Celebrate, replacing Zac Purton, who has the mount on the 4-year-old Easy Go Easy Win. Trained by John Moore, Easy Go Easy Win was sixth behind Waikuku in a handicap at a mile at Sha Tin on Feb. 3.
Waikuku finished second as the odds-on favorite in the $2.29 million Hong Kong Derby at Sha Tin on March 17.
Easy Go Easy Win, who will carry 121 pounds, may inherit the lead in the Centenary Cup. The race lacks a confirmed front-runner, and Easy Go Easy Win set the pace Feb. 3 before fading in the final furlong.
