The race is one of five stakes on a 12-race card that drew 2023 All American Futurity winner Cowboys Gun Z. The Texas Classic Futurity field is led by stakes winners Jc Speeding, who is 5 for 7, and Holy Guacamolee, who is chasing after his fourth consecutive win. They are part of a field of 10. Cowboys Gun Z goes in the Grade 1, $100,000 Refrigerator Championship. The $247,588 Texas Classic Oaks drew fellow Grade 1 winners Karmalites and Up to Party.
