Rice pointing Do Share, Seymourdini to Toboggan

OZONE PARK, N.Y. – Trainer Linda Rice said she is considering running both Do Share and Seymourdini in the Grade 3, $100,000 Toboggan at Aqueduct on Jan. 27. The Toboggan is now at seven furlongs after previously being run at six.
Do Share won last Saturday’s $100,000 Gravesend and will scratch from Saturday’s $100,000 Dave’s Friend Stakes at Laurel Park.
Seymourdini showed much promise earlier in the year, winning two allowance races at Laurel and the State Dinner Stakes at Belmont by a combined 36 1/4 lengths. In his last two starts, he finished fourth in the Grade 3 Bold Ruler at Belmont and ninth in the Grade 1 Cigar Mile here on Dec. 2.
Rice felt that “everything went wrong” for Seymourdini in both races. She felt Seymourdini was too far back in the Bold Ruler and went too fast on the lead in the Cigar Mile.
“I don’t know how you could get two races like that in a row,” Rice said. “We’ll just have to draw a line through it.”
Seymourdini worked a half-mile in 49.77 seconds on Dec. 22.
◗ The $100,000 East View Stakes for New York-bred fillies, part of Thursday’s card which was canceled due to extreme cold weather, has been rescheduled for Jan. 7. The race was restricted to 2-year-old fillies but now will be restricted to 3-year-old fillies. It is open to original nominees and will be redrawn Thursday.
