Reylu Gutierrez to ride at Turfway

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Reylu Gutierrez, an Eclipse Award finalist for top apprentice in 2018, is moving his tack to Kentucky for the winter. Gutierrez will be represented by Jimmy McNerney during four months of racing at Turfway Park.
McNerney, the perennial top agent at Turfway, said Gutierrez will ride the last week or so of the Churchill meet prior to moving to Turfway. Gutierrez, 24, is a Rochester, N.Y., native who has competed mostly in New York and Florida in three years of riding.

McNerney, the Turfway race-caller, also will work for DeShawn Parker, whereas Albin Jimenez, a seven-time Turfway champion who has frequently employed McNerney, will have Joe Santos as his agent.
Quite a few horsemen who in recent years have migrated elsewhere are intending to compete all winter at Turfway, including jockey Chris Landeros, who is using his brother-in-law Brodie Wilkes as his agent.
◗ One victory shy of the 3,000-win milestone, Hall of Fame trainer Mark Casse will begin this week with entries in five races Thursday – two at Churchill, two at Gulfstream West, and one at Woodbine.
