Revenant Moon edges Hock It to You in Oklahoma Futurity
A troublesome neighbor was no bother for Revenant Moon in Saturday’s $477,200 Oklahoma Futurity at Remington Park.
Prior to the start of the 300-yard race, De Laurentis was fractious in the stall adjacent to Revenant Moon and eventually scratched. Once the race started, Revenant Moon ran to expectations as the favorite, edging 5-2 Hock It to You by a neck.
Ridden by Jose Alvarez, Revenant Moon ($3.40) was timed in 15.39 seconds and earned $190,880 for the partnership Trey Odom, Scott Bryant and Norman Allen and trainer Trey Wood.
Shy Kisser, the 43-1 longshot in a field of eight, finished third, beaten 1 1/2 lengths.

Revenant Moon, bought for $20,000 as a yearling last summer, is unbeaten in two starts, having won a division of the Oklahoma Futurity trials on March 8 in her debut. Revenant Moon, a filly by A Revenant, had the fastest qualifying time from the trials.
The Oklahoma Futurity was the first major race for 2-year-olds at the track’s winter-spring meeting, which continues through May 29.
Earlier on the program, Card One Starter won his first major race in the $251,600 Oklahoma Derby.
Ridden by Juan Pulido, Card One Starter broke from the rail and led throughout to win the 350-yard race by a head over 8-1 Apollitical Redflash. Sent off favored, Card One Starter ($5) was timed in 17.63 seconds.
Card One Starter was a slight choice over fastest qualifier Relentlessly, who finished fifth but was disqualified and placed 10th for causing interference when he drifted to the inside from post 4.
Card One Starter, a gelding by Docs Best Card, has won 6 of 10 starts and has earned $188,895. Card One Starter, who races for Jose Guzman and trainer Edelmiro Carrizales, was second in the Old South Futurity at Delta Downs last July and third in the Texas Quarter Horse Association Sires’ Cup Futurity at Retama Park last August.
