Retama: Special pick four with Evangeline

Retama Park and Evangeline Downs will combine to offer a regional pick four on Saturday night. The wager coincides with one of Retama's biggest programs. The track will be running two turf stakes for 2-year-olds: the $100,000 Ketel One El Joven and the $100,000 M2 Technology La Senorita.

Both are part of the pick four, which includes the sixth, seventh, and eighth races from Retama and the ninth race from Evangeline Downs - the Matron Stakes.

The La Senorita will go as the sixth race, and the El Joven the eighth. Both stakes usually attract full fields, and that should be the case again Saturday. Among the probables for the El Joven are the stakes-placed Leaving on My Mind for leading trainer Danny Pish.

For the La Senorita, trainer Randy Oberlander is expected to invade from Canterbury Park with seven-length maiden winner Malika's Gold. Others in the race include Ready to Live, who won the $50,000 Rebel this year at Louisiana Downs.
