Retama: Horse Player World Series berth at stake

Retama Park near San Antonio is holding a pair of handicapping tournaments over the next few weeks, with one of them a qualifier for the 2008 Horse Player World Series in Las Vegas, the track announced. The qualifier, being held in conjunction with Coast Casinos, will be held at Retama on April 7.

The winner of the qualifier will receive entry into the Horse Player World Series, as well as airfare, hotel accommodations, and meals. The first-place prize for the 2007 finals of the Horse Player World Series was $357,500.

The other upcoming handicapping contest will be at Retama on March 31.-
