LEXINGTON, Ky. – Prominent owner Mike Repole’s reputation as a breeder has grown this year. He campaigns Breeders’ Cup Juvenile winner Fierceness as a homebred and sold the Keeneland September yearling sale topper, from that same family. However, while Repole added to his broodmare band during the Keeneland November breeding stock sale’s Book 1 session, his two most expensive purchases have more racing ahead of them. Repole purchased graded stakes winners Interstatedaydream and Surprisingly for $1.4 million and $1 million, respectively. Both will go to trainer Todd Pletcher, after previously being trained by Brad Cox and Shug McGaughey, respectively. Repole bought out his partners in champion Nest for a co-sale-topping $6 million at this week’s Fasig-Tipton November sale and intends to race on with that mare as well. :: Bet the races with a $200 First Deposit Match + FREE All Access PPs! Repole also bought three in-foal broodmares for a combined $2 million, led by Grade 1 winner and stakes producer Dame Dorothy for $900,000. “We have Forte, we have Up to the Mark, so we have two new stallions coming. We’re excited about them,” Repole said. “Vino [Rosso]’s doing really well. We’ve still got Uncle Mo. I own a big percent of City of Light and Life Is Good, so I’m really excited about them.” :: Want to learn more about handicapping and wagering?
