OZONE PARK, N.Y. – After initially planning to wait until the Withers Stakes on Feb. 4 to run Arctic Arrogance again, trainer Linda Rice said this week she is now strongly considering running the Grade 2 Remsen runner-up in the $150,000 Jerome Stakes here on Jan. 7. “I’m going to point to the Jerome,” Rice said Thursday. “Two months is too much time. I’ll the let horse make the decision, how he’s doing at the time. If I feel like he needs more time between races, I can wait for the Withers.” The Jerome means a cutback to a one-turn mile coming off a solid effort going 1 1/8 miles around two turns in the Remsen, where Arctic Arrogance was beaten a half-length by Dubyuhnell while finishing 11 1/4 lengths clear of the rest of the field. :: Access morning workout reports straight from the tracks and get an edge with DRF Clocker Reports Arctic Arrogance, a son of Frosted, is already a two-time winner going one turn, including a 4 1/2-length victory in the Sleepy Hollow Stakes for New York-breds going one mile on Oct. 30. Rice has been on quite a roll the last few weeks. She won three races on Thursday’s Aqueduct card and then won with her first two starters, Melting Snow and Ria's Angel, on Friday's card to give her five straight wins. Her streak was broken when Bourbon's Hope finished last in race 6 on Friday. She is 12 for 59 at the fall meet, second in wins only to Chad Brown, who is 14 for 50. :: Want to learn more about handicapping and wagering?
