Remington Park track report

Zee Oh Six will be back to defend his title in the $75,000 Oklahoma Classics Day Classic at Remington Park on Saturday night. The 1 1/16-mile race is the richest of seven stakes for statebreds on the nine-race card. The stakes, held at night for the first time, are worth a combined $285,000.

Most of the races drew large fields when entries were taken on Wednesday. There were 14 horses entered in both the $35,000 Lassie for 2-year-old fillies, and the $35,000 Juvenile, while fields of 12 are expected for both the $35,000 Filly and Mare Turf, and the $35,000 Turf.

Zee Oh Six will face seven others in the Classic. Trainer Steve Hobby has given the mount to leading rider Cliff Berry.

Berry will also be aboard top contenders in the $35,000 Distaff and the $35,000 Sprint. He will ride Devout Sinner in the Distaff for owner-trainer Joan Charlton, and Medium Rare in the Sprint for trainer Roger Engel.

Trainer Cole Norman and jockey Kirk LeBlanc, who lead their respective divisions at Louisiana Downs, will invade with Slew Ann for the Filly and Mare Turf, and Montana Moon for the Juvenile. LeBlanc also has several other mounts on the card Saturday.
