Remington Oaks winner Lady Mystify may return to Southwest

Lady Mystify could be headed back to the Southwest region following her win in the Grade 3, $200,000 Remington Park Oaks on Sunday.
The promising filly recently returned to her Santa Anita base, said trainer Peter Eurton.
“We’ll check her all out and see where we go from here,” he said.
Eurton said options include the $200,000 Zia Park Oaks on Nov. 23 in New Mexico and the $150,000 Mistletoe on Dec. 4 at Oaklawn Park in Arkansas.
“We like to spread her races out,” said Eurton.
The Zia Park Oaks will share a card with the $250,000 Zia Park Derby. The races are the highlight of the recently opened 36-date meet, which runs through Dec. 14.

The Mistletoe is a new stakes at Oaklawn, and it will be run over the track’s opening weekend. Oaklawn has moved the start of its upcoming meet to December.
The Zia Oaks and the Mistletoe are for 3-year-old fillies at 1 1/16 miles, the distance of the Remington Park Oaks. Lady Mystify won that race by three lengths, and earned a career-high Beyer Speed Figure of 95.
Lady Mystify won her maiden at Santa Anita in February by 18 lengths. The maiden special weight was run at one mile.
“That was a thriller,” said Eurton.
Lady Mystify is a daughter of Bernardini and she is from the female family of two-time Breeders’ Cup Classic winner Tiznow. She races for Exline-Border Racing, SAF Racing, and Richard Hausman.
Exline-Border Racing and Eurton were winning their second Remington Park Oaks. They teamed to capture the race in 2017 with champion Champagne Room. The Southern California-based Eurton has had one other starter at Remington. He sent out Called to Serve to run third in the Grade 3 Oklahoma Derby in 2012.
