Remington: Cold Cash 123 punches ticket to Champion of Champions

Cold Cash 123, the reigning world champion Quarter Horse, won his fifth straight race Sunday in the Grade 1, $250,000 Remington Park Invitational. He also earned a berth into the Grade 1, $750,000 Champion of Champions at Los Alamitos in December, a race his connections have said is a goal this year for Cold Cash 123.

Cold Cash 123 broke with the field but was in tight between rivals and bumped, before getting clear and making up ground with every stride. He won the 440-yard race by three-quarters of a length, while covering the distance on a track rated fast in 21.26 seconds. Roy Baldillez rode the winner for T Bill Stables and trainer Sleepy Gilbreath.

Jls Mr Bigtime finished second, while it was another head back in third to Llano Teller. Cold Cash 123 paid $4.
