Reinforcements arrive for Dutrow

OZONE PARK, N.Y. – While trainer Tony Dutrow sent out his graded stakes-placed 3-year-old Un Ojo to another trainer for Saturday’s Rebel at Oaklawn Park on Tuesday, he welcomed into his Belmont barn a trio of horses he hopes will have successful campaigns in 2022.
Miss Brazil, a stakes-winning filly; High Opinion, a multiple graded stakes-placed turf horse; and Predicted, a well-bred maiden 3-year-old, all arrived back at Dutrow’s barn Sunday after vacations.
Miss Brazil, who won the Ruthless last year and was second to Search Results in the Busher, has not run since a fifth-place finish in the Victory Ride Stakes on July 10 at Belmont. She shows five works this year, all on Niall Brennan’s farm in Ocala, Fla.
High Opinion, a 5-year-old daughter of Lemon Drop Kid, finished second in both the Grade 2 Ballston Spa and Grade 3 Noble Damsel last year. The Noble Damsel, run Oct. 23, was her most recent start.

Predicted, a 3-year-old son of Tapit and a full brother to Grade 1 winner Sweet Loretta, went 0 for 3 at age 2. However, he finished a good second to Kitten Mischief in his most recent outing Nov. 12.
“They’ve been training on the farm and look fantastic,” Dutrow said. “I’ll pick it up from there and go right on with them. I would hope they’d be ready by mid-April.”
