Registration open for Breeders' Cup Betting Challenge
The Breeders’ Cup announced that registration is now open for the seventh annual Breeders’ Cup Betting Challenge, presented by West Point Thoroughbreds.
The BCBC will be held Friday and Saturday, Oct. 30-31, at the 2015 Breeders’ Cup at Keeneland and at five satellite locations across the country, up from two in 2014. New locations Del Mar, Gulfstream Park, and a Las Vegas satellite to be named at a later date join Santa Anita Park and Aqueduct.
The BCBC requires a $10,000 entry fee, of which $7,500 is dedicated to each player’s live-money bankroll, with the remaining $2,500 going into the overall prize pool. The tournament permits win, place, show, exacta, and trifecta wagering on Breeders’ Cup weekend races, with the winner being the player who accumulates the highest bankroll.
The top 15 finishers share the estimated $875,000 prize pool; 2014 winner Robert Traynor of Oceanside, Calif., took home a total of $301,000. The top two finishers at this year’s event will also receive interests in a West Point Thoroughbreds horse.
The top 15 finishers in the BCBC also will be awarded berths to the DRF/NTRA National Handicapping Championship at Treasure Island in Las Vegas in January.
