Regal Glory's retirement put on hold as she trains for Jenny Wiley

HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. – Trainer Chad Brown said this week that Regal Glory is being pointed to the Grade 1 Jenny Wiley on April 16 at Keeneland after it was decided by owner Peter Brant that the 6-year-old mare will continue to race rather than be retired.
Regal Glory breezed a half-mile in 50 seconds Saturday at Payson Park in her first work since she earned a third straight triple-digit Beyer Speed Figure with a flashy 2 1/2-length victory as the odds-on favorite in the inaugural Pegasus World Cup Filly and Mare Turf here Jan. 29.
Regal Glory, a Kentucky-bred by Animal Kingdom, earned a 100 Beyer Speed Figure in the Pegasus Filly and Mare Turf, running her career record to 10 for 17. She had earned Beyers of 101 and 103 in her two previous starts.

Regal Glory had been booked to be bred at Spendthrift Farm to Into Mischief, the world’s hottest sire, but Brant switched her out this week in favor of American West, a 4-year-old Curlin filly.
Meanwhile, Brown said he has no definite race in mind for the star 4-year-old filly Search Results, who went five furlongs Monday in 1:02 at Payson in her fifth work since mid-January. Search Results, who last spring was a close second in the Kentucky Oaks and won the Acorn, has not raced since finishing third as the favorite in the Test at Saratoga in early August.
Brown is in the Kentucky Derby hunt with Zandon, third last Saturday in the Risen Star at Fair Grounds, but his top 3-year-old Jack Christopher still has not breezed since returning to his care at Payson about six weeks ago, casting further doubt on his Derby status.
