SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. - Chad Brown, still in search of his first victory in the race, will send out the top filly Regal Glory against four males in the Grade 1 Fourstardave Handicap, a one-mile turf feature on Saturday’s card at Saratoga.
Brown has run 13 horses in seven runnings of the Fourstardave, with four second-place finishes. In 2020, when he ran half the eight-horse field, his horses finished fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth.
Regal Glory, a 6-year-old daughter of Animal Kingdom owned by Peter Brant, is 3 for 3 this year and has won her last four starts. Regal Glory is coming off a dominant 3 1/2-length victory in the Grade 1 Just a Game at Belmont. Her stablemate In Italian finished third and then came back to win the Grade 1 Diana here on July 16.

Regal Glory will break from post 3 under her regular rider Jose Ortiz. She carries 119 pounds, but is technically the 124-pound highweight. Fillies and mares get five pounds from their male counterparts on the scale of weights this time of year.
One of Regal Glory’s four rivals is the Brown-trained Masen, who comes off victories in the Seek Again and Grade 3 Poker at Belmont after getting beat a nose by Shirl’s Speight in the Grade 1 Maker’s Mark Mile at Keeneland.
The Fourstardave offers the winner a fees-paid berth into the Breeders’ Cup Mile at Keeneland on Nov. 5.
The others entered in the Fourstardave are Casa Creed, who has finished third in the last two runnings of this race, Front Run the Fed, and Get Smokin.
