Reeves, Ritvo team up to buy Mac Daddy Mac
DEL MAR, Calif. – Owners Dean and Patti Reeves and trainer Kathy Ritvo have teamed up for a private purchase of the 2-year-old colt Mac Daddy Mac, who won his debut Oct. 24 at Santa Anita and is being prepared for the Grade 3, $100,000 Bob Hope Stakes at Del Mar on Nov. 14, said Ritvo.
“He’s a nice horse,” she said. “He broke his maiden impressively.”
Ritvo will remain in California through the Bob Hope.
Mac Daddy Mac cruised home 4 1/2 lengths best in 1:04.16 for 5 1/2 furlongs as a 19-1 outsider in his lone start. He was trained by Jack Carava and owned by Chip McEwen’s Wounded Warrior Stable, which is in the process of being dispersed.
Ritvo trained and the Reeves co-owned Mucho Macho Man, who won the 2013 Breeders’ Cup Classic during a career that saw him win nine times in 25 starts and earn more than $5.6 million.
