Red Mile: Warrawee Ubeaut brilliant again in Tattersalls

Warrawee Ubeaut is on a heck of a run right now, and it continued in Saturday afternoon's $216,000 Tattersalls for 3-year-old pacing fillies at The Red Mile as she was victorious in a wrapped-up 1:48 3/5.
Driver Yannick Gingras and Warrawee Ubeaut landed in fifth from post three while Beautyonthebeach (Doug McNair) led to the 26 2/5 opening quarter. Treacherous Reign (Dexter Dunn) was parked through that first quarter from post nine, but she pressed on and was able to clear Beautyonthebeach past that marker.
Treacherous Reign remained in front at the 53 2/5 half and 1:21 3/5 three-quarters, but Warrawee Ubeaut was out and rolling first-over before the half, and she was just a length behind the leader at three-quarters. Warrawee Ubeaut took over control coming off the last turn, and it was academic from there as she strolled home to win by two lengths. Queen Of The Pride (Brian Sears) was second after an inside trip in the pocket and the three-hole, and Stonebridge Soul (Tim Tetrick) rallied from last to third in the final quarter.
"You can see right here how relaxed she is. She's much more professional now than she was last year," said Gingras. "She had plenty left. I shut her down halfway down the stretch. There's still a lot of big races left, and we're not racing the clock."
Ron Burke trains Warrawee Ubeaut, a daughter of Sweet Lou, for owners Burke Racing Stable LLC., Phil Collura, J&T Silva- Purnel & Libby, and Weaver Bruscemi LLC. This was her 17th career victory, and she has now earned $1,283,393. The 1-9 favorite, she paid $2.20 to win.
