Amanda Stephens Topville Lucky now has consecutive victories in the Kentucky Championship Series

Topville Lucky posted her second straight victory in Kentucky Championship Series competition for 2-year-old pacing fillies on Sunday evening at The Red Mile, tallying in 1:50 2/5.

72-1 shot She's A Rich Girl (David Miller) cut the quarter in 28 1/5 and then was overtaken by Seaside Shuffle (Dexter Dunn) beyond that marker. Topville Lucky (Atlee Bender) would watch that transpire from second and third before she was wheeled to the outside on the way to the 56 2/5 half, and she bypassed Seaside Shuffle past that station.

1-2 favorite Gala (Todd McCarthy) would tip first-over from fourth on the last turn and got into second at the 1:24 2/5 three-quarters, but Topville Lucky was up to the task through the lane and to the wire, rebuffing the chalk in a 26 second sprint and defeating her by half a length. Caviart Daisy (Andy McCarthy) grabbed third.

Trainer Erv Miller also co-owns Topville Lucky, a daughter of Sweet Lou bred by Jeremy Yoder, with partners Douglas Overhiser, Dr. Michael Ternisky and Dr. Scott Leaf. Topville Lucky has three wins in four starts, has earned $95,000 and paid $7.24 to win.
