Red Mile: Takeout lowered, rules on attending live racing announced

The Red Mile has made playing the races a bit more enticing for its horseplayers and fans. Beginning with this Sunday's card the retention rate on the daily Pick 4 wager (races 7-10) has been reduced to 15% and will come with a pool guarantee of $5,000 on Sundays, courtesy of The Red Mile and the USTA Strategic Wagering program.

This pairs nicely with the existing Pick 5 on races 2-6 which also offers the low, low takeout rate of 15%.

The Red Mile is currently racing live on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday with a 1:00pm post time each day.

Looking ahead

The Red Mile will be hosting a very limited number of spectators to its live race meet, beginning with the September 20th Kentucky Sire Stakes Finals and continuing through the remainder of the meet. The full racing schedule is available on the website at redmileky.com.

Horse owners and trainers with Kentucky racing licenses, credentialed members of the media and a limited number of reserved tickets will be made available. Masks, social distancing and screening (temperature checks and questionnaire) will be required for attendance, as per Kentucky regulations for COVID-19.
