Back Of The Neck and Gangster Hanover gave the Ake Svanstedt barn victories in two of the three Bluegrass divisions for 3-year-old colt and gelding trotters that took place on Sunday afternoon at The Red Mile.  Ron Burke pupil It's Academic won the remaining split. In the second $70,900 flight, Back Of The Neck (Scott Zeron) sped away from post six and hit the opening quarter in 27 4/5, but Amigo Volo (Dexter Dunn) pressed on two-wide and took over the lead past that marker.  Amigo Volo continued to show the way to the half in 56 1/5 and the three-quarters in 1:25 3/5, giving the cold shoulder to a first-over Capricornus (Tim Tetrick) at that latter station.  In the stretch Amigo Volo got away from Capricornus, but Zeron angled Back Of The Neck out two-wide with about an eighth to go, and he was full of trot after swinging off the pylons, rallying past Amigo Volo on his way to a 1 1/2 length decision in 1:51 3/5. Patriarch Hanover (Matt Kakaley) got third. "(Svanstedt) tried pulling all four shoes on him today, and in the post parade he wanted to make he sounded good hitting the ground," Zeron said. "He's just an amazing horseman, and he told me even in the post parade, he said, he sounds great, you'll be good. "I think right now he's better (than he was in the summer).  That was off of a layoff, and I'm only thinking that he's going to get better and better." A colt by Ready Cash, Back Of The Neck is owned by Howard Taylor, breeder Order By Stable, and Judith Taylor.  Back Of The Neck is now a six-time winner in his career, and he has put away $442,270.  He paid $4.20 to win. Svanstedt trainee Jula Trix Treasure (Yannick Gingras) grabbed command at the 27 4/5 quarter in the last $70,900 Bluegrass battle and marched on to the half in 56 1/5 and the three-quarters in 1:25 1/5.  Gangster Hanover, driven by Svanstedt, was out and moving first-over from third at three-quarters, and he would forge his way past his stablemate beyond three-quarters, then get separation on the field.  He needed that gap as Jula Trix Treasure re-rallied and Sermon (Kasper Forget) finished well on the cones, but they couldn't reach Gangster Hanover as he got to the wire half a length to the good over Jula Trix Treasure in a 1:52 3/5 performance.  Sermon finished third. Gangster Hanover is a Father Patrick colt, and Svanstedt also co-owns him with S R F Stable and breeder Brittany Farms LLC.  Gangster Hanover has a record of 5-1-0 from 11 appearances, and he has now pocketed $239,223.  He returned $7.40 to win. It's Academic (Chris Page) gunned out from the outside post seven back in the opening $69,900 section and put the 27 1/5 first quarter on the board.  EL Ideal (Andy Miller), yet another Svanstedt entrant, popped pocket after that and landed on the engine prior to the 54 4/5 half.  EL Ideal continued to front the group to three-quarters in 1:23 and entered the stretch with an advantage, but Page angled It's Academic to the outside, and he out-kicked EL Ideal to prevail by a length and a quarter in 1:50 3/5.  King Alphonso (Svanstedt) was the third-place finisher. Trained by Ron Burke, It's Academic is an Ohio-sired colt by Uncle Peter owned by Burke Racing Stable LLC., W.J. Donovan, Joe Sbrocco, and Hatfield Stables.  It's Academic made his 11th appearance in the winner's circle, has now banked $374,734.  He paid $22.20 to win as a 10-1 shot.
