Red Mile: Sophomore pacers clash in Corbin Sires Stakes

Three-year-old pacers of both sexes hit the track on Sunday afternoon at The Red Mile in three $30,000 Corbin Sires Stakes events.
Fillies were divided into a pair of splits, and in the first grouping, Dont Fence Me In (Scott Zeron) got up in the lane after tracking Fly Like An Angel (Joe Bongiorno) from the pocket through fractions of 27 2/5, 55 4/5, and 1:24 3/5. Style For A Mile (Dexter Dunn) gave trainer Tony Alagna a sweep of the top two spots, and Fly Like An Angel ended up third.
Dont Fence Me In, a daughter of Captaintreacherous bred by Riverview Breeding LLC., is owned by Riverview Racing LLC., Alagna Racing LLC., Steven Head, and Pryde Stables Inc. This was her ninth career win, and she has now earned $545,184. She paid $3.90 to win as the 4-5 favorite.
In the other showdown for fillies, Msdinosis Blugrass (Tony Hall) led at the 28 2/5 opening quarter, then yielded to Lookatmyrapsheet (Bongiorno) going to the 56 2/5 half. Lookatmyrapsheet remained in command to the 1:25 4/5 three-quarters and into the lane, but Msdinosis Blugrass surged in the final eighth and went by Lookatmyrapsheet at the wire to tally by a nose in 1:52 3/5. Lock Bridge (Zeron) closed well for third.
Trained by Donald Brock, Msdinosis Blugrass is a daughter of JK Endofanera owned by Luel Overstreet and bred by Smith Racing Stable. Unraced as a freshman, Msdinosis Blugrass has a record of 6-5-4 in 20 appearances as a sophomore, and she has pocketed $159,135. She returned $15.32 to win as a 6-1 shot.

Alagna also won the colt and gelding pace with Caviart Camden (Dunn). Dunn moved him from third to first beyond the 27 4/5 opening quarter, and after posting middle-half splits of 55 3/5 and 1:23 3/5, Caviart Camden kicked home in 27 1/5 to defeat Terminator (Andy Miller) by a neck in 1:50 4/5. Taurasi (Devon Tharps), another Alagna pupil came in third after a first-over try.
Caviart Farms bred and owns Caviart Camden, a Huntsville colt. He made his seventh appearance in the winner's circle and boosted his bankroll to $214,105. He paid $4.08 to win as the even-money favorite.
