Three-year-old filly trotters and rookie pacing fillies took center stage on Sunday night at The Red Mile in Kentucky Championship Series, Commonwealth Series and Golden Rod Series action.
Allegiant (Scott Zeron) put up fractions of 28 2/5, 56 3/5 and 1:24 3/5 in the $80,000 Championship Series dash for the sophomores, but Date Night Hanover (Dexter Dunn), who went first-up from fifth on the last turn, stormed by Allegiant in the lane and pulled clear to win by a length and a quarter in 1:51 2/5. Allegiant had to settle for second and Spy Coast (Yannick Gingras) finished third.
A daughter of Chapter Seven, Date Night Hanover is trained by Marcus Melander for owners Jeff Snyder and Onda Racing Stable. The Hanover Shoe Farms-bred is now a six-time winner from 21 outings, has banked $471,109 and paid $4.58 to win as the second choice.
Champagne Room (Andy McCarthy) put up the 27 1/5 quarter, 56 1/5 half and 1:24 3/5 three-quarters in the Kentucky Championship Series contest for the pacers, but Looksgoodinloulou (Gingras) squeezed out of the pocket under a two-wide Duration (Todd McCarthy) before the top of the stretch, rallied past Champagne Room and won by a length and three-quarters in 1:50 2/5. Duration was the runner-up and Champagne Room checked in third.
Looksgoodinloulou, by Sweet Lou, is a homebred for owners Burke Racing Stable LLC. and Weaver Bruscemi LLC. Looksgoodinloulou, trained by Ron Burke, is now two-for-two, has pocketed $80,000 and returned $2.22 to win as the 1-9 choice.

Winning the $30,000 Commonwealth Series tests for the pacers were Rose (by Sweet Lou, bred by co-owners Burke Racing Stable LLC. and Weaver Bruscemi LLC. with Jason Melillo, paid $2.10 to win) in 1:50 3/5 for driver Yannick Gingras, trainer Ron Burke and co-owners Jack Piatt III and Larry Karr, and Chakra (by Lather Up, bred by Crawford Farms, paid $19.24 to win) in 1:51 4/5 for driver Anibal Borjas, trainer Tony Alagna and owners Alagna Racing LLC. and Pryde Stables Inc.
Two Commonwealth Series splits for trotters were also held, with the victories going to Star Attraction (by Chapter Seven, bred by owners Marvin Katz and Al Libfeld, paid $10.48 to win) in 1:52 2/5 for driver Tim Tetrick and trainer Ake Svanstedt and Pisco Sour (by Walner and bred by Steve Stewart, Black Creek Farm and Harri Koskela, paid $5.34) in 1:53 2/5 for Tetrick, Svanstedt and owner Jorgen Sparredal Inc.
The $15,000 Golden Rod Series paces saw triumphs by Bytheliteofthemoom (by Bettor's Wish and bred by Brittany Farms, paid $3.08 to win) in 1:51 3/5 for driver Dexter Dunn and trainer Chris Ryder, who are also the co-owners, Long Hot Summer (by Tall Dark Stranger, bred by Visionary Breeders LLC., Marvin Katz and Riverview Breeding LLC., paid $99.18 to win) in 1:53 1/5 for driver Andy McCarthy, trainer Tony Alagna and owners Marvin Katz, Riverview Racing LLC. and Alagna Racing LLC. and Flossy Hill (by Tall Dark Stranger and bred by owner Tom Hill, paid $4.22 to win) in 1:52 1/5 for Dunn and Ryder.
