The curtain came down on The Red Mile's portion of this year's Kentucky Sire Stakes program with eight $50,000 Golden Rod Series finals on Tuesday afternoon.

Yannick Gingras and Ron Burke continued their red-hot streak with two more victories on the program, taking the 3-year-old colt and gelding pace with Blue Onyx (by Tall Dark Stranger and bred by Crawford Farms, paid $14.46 to win) in 1:50 3/5 for owners Burke Racing Stable LLC., Brad Grant and Weaver Bruscemi LLC. and the 2-year-old filly pace with Seaside Charm (by Downbytheeaside and bred by Brookside Stables and Amos Lengacher, paid $2.70 to win) in 1:50 4/5 for owners Thomas and Scott Dillon.

Tim Tetrick also made a pair of trips to the winner's circle as he captured the 2-year-old colt and gelding pace with Down The Line (by Captain Crunch and bred by owner Fiddler's Creek Stables LLC., paid $30.58 to win) in 1:51 3/5 for trainer Travis Alexander and the 2-year-old male trot with Captain Naughty (by Captain Corey and bred by owner Denise Dennis, paid $11.58 to win) in 1:53 3/5 for trainer Justin Lloyd.

Andy McCarthy doubled as well, scoring in the 3-year-old filly pace with Baret (by Bettor's Delight and bred by Brittany Farms, paid $2.98 to win) in 1:50 1/5 for trainer Brett Pelling and owner Diamond Creek Racing and in the 2-year-old filly trot with Out The Window (by Googoo Gaagaa and bred by Coyote Wynd Farms, paid $9.40 to win) in 1:54 2/5 for trainer Carter Pinske and owners Pinske Stables and Andray Farm.

A number of upsets occurred during the finals, and the biggest came in the 3-year-old male trot where Boots N Beer, the longest shot on the board at 72-1, rallied to a 1:51 2/5 victory. The Greenshoe gelding bred by Kentuckiana Farms and Perry Soderberg, was driven to the triumph by Joey Putnam for trainer Joe Putnam and owner J P Racing LLC. He returned $147.74 to win.

Another surprise came in the 3-year-old filly trot as 17-1 offering Misspanzee, a daughter of Gimpanzee bred by Order By Stable, led a 1-2 finish for trainer Noel Daley in her 1:52 1/5 victory. Andy Miller was in the bike for owner Thaddeus Wier, and Misspanzee paid $37.88 to win.

Next up at The Red Mile is their annual Grand Circuit Meet that starts on September 25.
