Red Mile: Geocentric dominates again in Kentucky Championship Series
?q=100)
Budding superstar Geocentric ran her record to five wins from five starts with another sparkling 1:51 performance in the $80,000 Kentucky Championship Series dash for 2-year-old pacing fillies on Monday afternoon at The Red Mile.
Geocentric was positioned third at the 28 3/5 opening quarter, but driver Tim Tetrick sent the daughter of Sweet Lou to the outside beyond that marker, and she would brush to the point approaching the 56 4/5 half. Asweetbeachhere (Atlee Bender) tried the waters first-over out of fourth on the final bend and made it into second past the 1:25 1/5 three-quarters, but at the top of the stretch Geocentric shifted into a gear the others didn't have, then paced home in 25 4/5 to win by four lengths. Early pace-setter Seeuontheotherside (Tony Hall) was second from the pocket and Capytreach (Scott Zeron) turned an inside trip into a third-place result.
