$35,000 Kentucky Sire Stakes sections for 4-year-old trotters on Tuesday afternoon at The Red Mile were won by gelding Dame Good Time and mare Date Night Hanover.

Dame Good Time (David Miller) led to the quarter in 28 3/5 and then continued to show the way to the half in 56 3/5 after favored Vic Zelenskyy (Mattias Melander) broke while moving up to challenge him. Pocket-sitter Benny J (Andy McCarthy) then attacked two-wide on the final bend and cleared Dame Good Time beyond the 1:25 3/5 three-quarters.

Benny J was on a clear lead in the upper part of the stretch, but then he also went off-stride, putting Dame Good Time back on top. From there, Dame Good Time and Mister Dad (Dan Noble) raced to the wire, and Dame Good Time held sway by a length and a quarter in 1:53 1/5. Benny J wound up third.

Rene Sejthen trains Dame Good Time, a Chapter Seven gelding, for owner/breeder John Cummins. Dame Good Time has eight wins, two seconds and three thirds from 24 outings, has put away $623,416 and returned $6.22 to win.

Date Night Hanover would maintain the top spot through middle-half panels of 56 4/5 and 1:24 4/5 and kept a first-over Pizzelle (McCarthy) at bay in the final quarter to tally by a length and three-quarters in 1:52 3/5. Danger (Robert Taylor) finished with trot to get third.

Also by Chapter Seven, Date Night Hanover was bred by Hanover Shoe Farms and is trained by Marcus Melander for owners Jeff Snyder and Onda Racing Stable LLC. She has a summary of 11-3-6 from 37 efforts, has banked $874,896 and paid $3.38 to win.
