Amanda Stephens Always Gonna B You got up from the two-hole to win Tuesday's lone Kentucky Championship Series contest

The Kentucky Championship Series, Commonwealth Series, and Golden Rod Series for 3-year-old pacing fillies began on Tuesday afternoon at The Red Mile.

The $80,000 Championship Series race was a non-wagering event and would go to Always Gonna B You in 1:52 2/5. Driven by David Miller, Always Gonna B You led at the opening quarter, which went on the board in just 30 seconds, then yielded to Dont Fence Me In (Andy McCarthy). Dont Fence Me In would go on to hit the half in 58 1/5 and the three-quarters in 1:26 3/5, but Miller angled Always Gonna B You to the outside in the stretch and used a 25 3/5 final quarter to get by Dont Fence Me In for a half-length victory. Beyond The Sea (Tim Tetrick) rounded out the order.

Joe Holloway trains Always Gonna B You, a daughter of Always A Virgin, for co-owner/breeder Roll The Dice Stable and co-owner Val D'Or Farms. This was her seventh career win, and she has now banked $268,520.

Two $30,000 Commonwealth Series flights went behind the gate, with victories going to:

--Lookatmyrapsheet (by Bettor's Delight and bred by John Leahy) in 1:50 4/5 for driver Yannick Gingras, trainer Per Engblom, and owner Arnold White;

--Lock Bridge (by Captaintreacherous and bred by Riverview Breeding LLC., Visionary Breeders LLC., and Minisink Farms LLC.) in 1:52 1/5 for driver David Miller, trainer Linda Toscano, and owners Enviro Stables LTD., South Mountain Stables, Camelot Stable Inc., and Westminster Road LLC.
