Record minus pool at Bay Meadows

SAN MATEO, Calif. - Heavily favored So Long Birdie won a one-mile race Sunday at Bay Meadows and created a Bay Meadows and Northern California record $121,979 minus show pool.

So Long Birdie, who paid $2.20 for his half-length victory over Totalitarian, had $665,013 of the $705,421 show pool wagered on him.

Nearly half of the show pool came from the New York Racing Association with $333,484 bet to show. XPressBet handled $91,995, Penn National $43,745 and Philadelphia Park $32,026 in the show pool. Northern California bettors wagered only $7,922 in show bets.
