The Black-Eyed Susan at Pimlico is one of a couple of next start options for Recharge, winner of the $250,000 Sunland Park Oaks, according to trainer Steve Asmussen.
Recharge, a daughter of Gun Runner, is 3 for 4 for breeder Winchell Thoroughbreds. She is coming off a fifth-place finish in the Grade 2, $750,000 Fantasy on March 30 at Oaklawn for which she earned a career-high Beyer Speed Figure of 77.
“I nominated to the Valley of the Vapors at Oaklawn,” Asmussen said Tuesday. “I’m not sure. It might be a little quick back. We might wait to run her in the Black-Eyed Susan.”

The $200,000 Valley of the Vapors for 3-year-olds fillies is at a mile on April 20. The Grade 2 Black-Eyed Susan is May 17 at Pimlico.
Big winner for Cox
Almostgone Rocket made an impression in her career debut last week, winning a maiden special weight sprint for 3-year-old fillies by more than 11 lengths. She covered six furlongs in 1:10.74 and earned a Beyer Speed Figure of 83.
Brad Cox, who trains the daughter of Into Mischief for Frank Fletcher and Ten Strike Racing, said she could run back at Oaklawn or in Kentucky.
“We’ll probably look for a first-level allowance,” he said Tuesday. “It will be around one turn.
“She did come out of it in good order. We’ll press on with her, let her develop one race at a time. But I’d say a first-level allowance is next on the docket for her.”
Martin Chuan rode Almostgone Rocket.
