Recapturetheglory, Anak Nakal work at Churchill

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Recapturetheglory and Anak Nakal were the only two Kentucky Derby candidates to work Friday on another unseasonably warm morning at Churchill Downs.

Trainer Louis Roussel III moved Recapturetheglory's work forward 24 hours in deference to weather reports calling for rain in the area on Saturday. With jockey E.T. Baird aboard, Recapturetheglory worked five furlongs in 1:00.98 shortly after the renovation break.

Anak Nakal followed immediately behind Recapturetheglory, working in company with stablemate Aquarian and going a half-mile in 46.52 seconds. Aquarian pulled up badly after the work and had to be vanned off the track to trainer Nick Zito's barn.

In addition to the two Derby workers, two 3-year-old fillies got in their final major tune-ups for next Friday's Kentucky Oaks. Awesome Chic worked a half-mile in 51.21 seconds, while Pure Clan drilled five furlongs in 1:00.44.
