Ready Dancer among six entered for Futurity

ELMONT, N.Y. – Ready Dancer, who finished last in the Grade 1 Champagne on Oct. 3, was one of six horses entered Wednesday for Saturday’s Grade 2, $200,000 Futurity at Belmont Park.
Trainer Todd Pletcher said he “is not committed to run” in the six-furlong Futurity, and that Ready Dancer didn’t handle the sloppy track in the Champagne.
“Twenty yards into the race, you could tell he hated the racetrack,” Pletcher said.
Prior to the Champagne, Ready Dancer had one win from three starts, the victory coming with blinkers added in a six-furlong maiden race at Saratoga on Travers Day.
Ready Dancer drew post 4 in Saturday’s six-horse field.
Others entered were Full Salute, the winner of the Hall of Fame Stakes at Parx on Sept. 26; Annual Report, a maiden winner at Parx; and Manhattan Dan, King Kranz, and Legend Keeper. Legend Keeper was purchased privately by Paul Pompa Jr. and turned over to David Jacobson following an Aug. 22 maiden win at Gulfstream Park.
