Rattle N Roll was the class of the field in the $150,000 Tinsel at Oaklawn Park on Saturday and he won like it, sweeping into the stretch five wide and going on to a two-length victory with his ears pricked coming to the wire. Willy D’s finished second, while it was another three lengths back in third to Mackman. The Tinsel was for 3-year-olds and up at 1 1/8 miles. Rattle N Roll ($3.40) trailed early as Willy D’s and Woodcourt dueled through fractions of 23.20 seconds for the opening quarter, 46.52 for a half-mile and 1:10.91 for six furlongs. Rattle N Roll began picking off rivals on the final turn, came into the stretch five wide, and went on to cover the distance on a fast track in 1:49.76. “It looked like the pace was really [good],” winning rider Joel Rosario said in an interview conducted by Oaklawn. “He just took his time.” Kenny McPeek trains Rattle N Roll, who is a Grade 1 winner. The first-place check of $90,000 on Saturday pushed the horse’s earnings past $3.6 million. Rattle N Roll won the 10th stakes of his career and those victories include the Group 3 Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Cup in January at King Abdulaziz Racecourse in Saudi Arabia. McPeek said before the Tinsel that Rattle N Roll could be considered for a return trip to Saudi Arabia. Rattle N Roll races for Sharaf Mohamad Alhariri and Lucky Seven Stables. He is a son of Connect. Money Supply and Runaway Again were scratched from the Tinsel.  Racing continues Sunday. :: Want to learn more about handicapping and wagering?
