Rattle N Roll eyes Fayette Stakes

Rattle N Roll could face older horses for the first time in his career next month following his powerful win in the Grade 3, $400,000 Oklahoma Derby on Sunday at Remington Park.
Trainer Kenny McPeek said Tuesday that Rattle N Roll will be nominated to the Grade 2, $350,000 Fayette at Keeneland. The 1 1/8-mile race for 3-year-olds and up is Oct. 29.
Rattle N Roll, who last October captured the Grade 1 Breeders’ Futurity at Keeneland, won at the Fayette distance in the Oklahoma Derby. He trailed the field Sunday, put in a sweeping move around the final turn, and went on to a 1 1/2-length victory. Rattle N Roll earned a career-high Beyer Speed Figure of 100.
“He was very impressive,” McPeek said. “We’re very pleased with him. He’s such a good, solid horse.”
Rattle N Roll was winning his third derby of the year, behind the $250,000 St. Louis Derby and the $200,000 American Derby. The latter race was a Churchill Downs, and McPeek said Rattle N Roll has shipped back home to the Louisville, Ky., track.

McPeek said an option for Rattle N Roll at the end of the year is the $250,000 Zia Park Derby, a 1 1/16-mile race to be run Nov. 22 in New Mexico.
Rattle N Roll is a son of Connect who races for Lucky Seven Stable.
“He’s such a professional,” McPeek said. “He does everything you ask him to, every time.”
Rattle N Roll is on the cusp of becoming a millionaire, with earnings of $998,105.
