Randomized probable for Personal Ensign, Brown says

Chad Brown won four races - three of which were stakes - on Saturday at Monmouth Park, but aside from Molly Pitcher winner Randomized, next starts for several of those horses are still to be determined.
Randomized used her speed to win the Grade 3, $500,000 Molly Pitcher by three lengths, her first win since taking the grade 1 Ogden Phipps in June 2024. She had lost her previous two starts this year, finishing third to stablemate Raging Sea in the Grade 1 La Troienne and fifth of eight in the Grade 1 Ogden Phipps run over a sloppy track.
Brown said the Grade 1 Personal Ensign here on Aug. 24 would “probably” be her next start.
“I was happy to see her get back into form there,” Brown said Sunday. “Her season didn’t start off quite the way I hoped, but she ran quite well yesterday. I like how she finished her race off.”
Brown also won the Grade 2 United Nations with Redistricting and the Grade 3 Matchmaker with Segesta. He also won a maiden race. Prior to the United Nations, a 1 3/8-mile race run around three turns, Redistricting won the Monmouth Stakes run at 1 1/8 miles.
“He’s always been a challenging horse mentally and I think he’s now starting to figure it out,” Brown said. “Around three turns I was cautiously optimistic that the way he galloped out in his last race he’d be able to handle the extra distance and the extra turn and he certainly did.”
Brown would have liked to point Redistricting to the Grade 1 Sword Dancer, a 1 1/2-mile race run around three turns, but with that race having been moved up two weeks to Aug. 9, that is not an option.
“The race seems to be positioned to try and attract horses that aren’t even stabled here,” Brown said. “I don’t understand it all.”
Brown said he’s not sure where Segesta would make her next start, though she is a filly he would like to run in the Grade 1, $800,000 First Lady at Keeneland on Oct. 4. Brown said the Grade 2, $300,000 Ballston Spa, typically run on Travers Day, would have been a good spot for Segesta, but that race has been moved to Aug. 8.
Brown’s fourth winner at Monmouth was Investment Mandate, a 3-year-old gelding who won a turf maiden race, getting up in the final strides.
